Tucked under a canopy of tall evergreens near the River Lookout, The Juniper Yurt is a 16-foot Mongolian yurt that radiates warmth, simplicity, and charm. Its intimate circular form offers a cozy haven, inviting you to slow down and embrace the quiet rhythm of the forest.

Hand-built with intention and inspired by centuries-old design, this off-grid retreat blends natural beauty with light-touch living—featuring solar lighting, a urine-diverting composting toilet, and the calming sounds of nature all around.

Sip your morning coffee beneath the trees, walk the nearby trails, or end the day by your private firepit. The Juniper Yurt is a serene space to reconnect with yourself, your surroundings, and a simpler way of being.

An attached half-bath featuring a Swedish-designed Separett compost toilet that uses urine diversion to prevent odours and support off-grid sustainability.

Inside you’ll find a cooktop, small fridge with mini freezer, and all the essentials for preparing, serving, and cleaning up simple meals with ease.

Skyward views & sounds

Our dog Maple had a great time meeting Happy and Boca who are so adorable. There are lots of fun hikes and waterfalls around or simply walk on the property. The wood fired sauna was relaxing on a cold day and the wood fire heater kept us warm at night. 10 on 10 experience would highly recommend it's also a short drive out from Toronto making it the perfect getaway.”
